// Pathy didn’t intervene as artist during the residency. He was preocupated by the organisation of the residency. He had a project which he didnt realize. The idea was to pack with paper, all the sculptures, mainly in concrete, which are in the Academy park. Dozens and dozens, representing soldiers, mothers nursing their babies, mens suffering, and so on. They are completely in the idea of a congolese academism. But it is not shure that everybody would have understand that packing is also a way to reveal.

Pathy Tshindele installed a set of coaches in different public spaces, such as the taxi rank opposite from the Drill Hall. The couches were turned into ‘instruments’ by inserting hooters underneath the seats, which were be activated each time someone sat on the couch. Installed as a domestic setting on the street in the afternoons, when commuters would wait for communal taxies, the coaches offered slapstick/Vaudevillian distraction to a scene that takes place every day in the same fashion. The coaches were installed every afternoon during the festival.
