Les Scénos Urbaines sont un dispositif d’inscription de pratiques artistiques dans une ville. Elles ouvrent un espace et un temps à des artistes d’horizons multiples durant une résidence collective, en immersion dans un quartier, un contexte urbain donné. Urban Scénos is a scheme for integrating artistic practices into a city. Le choix des villes et des quartiers est lié à une rencontre avec des artistes qui y vivent et y développent leurs projets. En ce sens, toute urbanité peut accueillir les Scénos Urbaines. Chaque résidence est co-réalisée avec les artistes locaux via un processus collectif attentif au partage des conditions de production (commissariat, rémunération, circulations, temps préparatoire, etc… ) et à ce que la résidence soit un apport économique pour le quartier. Les artistes invités vivent et travaillent sur place, en immersion. Le fait d’être présent est un facteur essentiel au projet. Ainsi se construisent les conditions d’une dynamique des vécus et des processus. De fait, nombreux sont les acteurs locaux impliqués dans la résidence, à différents niveaux. Les artistes interagissent avec un environnement urbain donné. L’entrée est la « ville d’en bas », les dynamiques urbaines produites par les habitants : pratiques quotidiennes, corps – « body politics », « deal », textualité, théâtralité, performatif, jeu, spectral, informel… Artists interact with a given urban environment. Les projets sont présentés en fin de résidence lors d’une série d’événements dans l’espace urbain : performances, spectacles, installations, vidéos… Le public des Scénos Urbaines est en premier lieu les habitants du quartier. Les Scénos Urbaines posent la question des formes d’adresse aux publics et travaillent concrètement à rendre accessible à tous les propositions d’artistes, sans les formater. Il s’agit de « communautés », mais pas seulement. En cela, les Scénos Urbaines interrogent les logiques et les lieux de diffusion de la création contemporaine, en particulier dans des contextes où les lieux « dédiés » ( galeries, musées, théâtres… ) sont peu nombreux et à notre sens peu appropriés, tant ces dispositifs sont marqués par une pensée de l’art née en Europe aux XVIII et XIXème siècles.
