Joseph Gaylard est chercheur, ecrivain et enseignant. Son principal centre d’intérêt tourne autour du développement de l’espace urbain comme matériau de création. Il est membre de The Joubert Park Project, un collectif d’artistes installé au Drill Hall / Joubert Park, où il a été impliqué dans la réalisation de nombreuses interventions dans le centre ville de Johannesburg. Jospeh travaille aussi comme consultant dans le secteur culturel, en lien avec de nombreuses agences privées et publiques concernées par les industries créatives. Il est chercheur associé à la Wits school of Arts, travaille pour le National Executive du Visual Arts Network en Afrique du Sud, et est membre du Arts and Culture Trust.  

Joseph Gaylard is a researcher, writer and lecturer whose core interest lies in the development of urban space as a creative material. He is a member of the Joubert Park Project, an artists collective located at the Drill Hall in Joubert Park, where he has been involved in the realisation of a variety of creative interventions in the inner city of Johannesburg. Joseph also works as a consultant on cultural sector related issues to a variety of public and private sector agencies concerned with creative industries development. He is a research associate of the WITS School of Arts, serves on the National Executive of the Visual Arts Network of South Africa and is a board member of the Arts and Culture Trust.
